David Lewis “D.L.” Thomas, 93, of Marceline, MO, passed away on July 7, 2015, at the Pioneer Skilled Nursing Facility in Marceline.
D.L. was born on August 21, 1921, in New Cambria, MO, the son of Dave and Mable (Williams) Thomas. He was united in marriage to Wanda Marie Mulnix on November 18, 1945, in Ethel, MO. D.L. was a member of the United Church of New Cambria where he served on the church board and also on the Housing Authority Board. He enjoyed tractors, farming, and working with his cattle and hogs.
D.L. is survived by his wife, Wanda, and one son, Dennis Thomas of Marceline, MO, and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dayton Thomas.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the United Church of New Cambria with Rev. Mary Ellen Waychoff officiating. Burial will be in the New Cambria Cemetery in New Cambria, MO. Visitation will be from 10-11 am, Saturday morning, at the church. The family suggests memorials to the New Cambria Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilliland & McElwain Funeral Home in New Cambria, MO.
