Idalene Nester, age 91, of Brookfield, died Monday, January 26, 2015, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. A funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Carroll Schoenhall officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. and the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Glenda Idalene, daughter of Ralph and Minnie (Whitaker) Glidewell, was born January 16, 1924 in Milan. On June 7, 1947, she married Vearl “Blackie” Nester who preceded her in death on March 3,2008. Idalene had worked in the shoe cutting department at Brown Shoe Company in Brookfield. Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Quinn of Brookfield; a son, Jim Glidewell and wife, Debbie of Bucklin; seven grandchildren, Danny Quinn and wife, Sue, Chuck Quinn, Andy Quinn, Dustin Glidewell, Jerimiah Glidewell, Donnie Vietti, and Tracy Niemeier; seven great grandchildren, Savana Quinn, Rachel Quinn, Austin Quinn, Morgan Burns, Marcus Glidewell, Gwyn Niemeier, and Bailey Niemeier; and two brothers, Kenneth Glidewell and wife, Judy of Aurora, Colorado, and Jim Glidewell and wife, Mary Sue of Kansas City.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Thomas Glidewell and Tunney Glidewell.
