July 28, 1939 - LEGION SPONSORS HOME-TOWN MOVIE

Motion Pictures of Marceline Will Be Shown August 9th and 10th at Uptown

A home-town movie will be shown August 9th and 10th at the Uptown Theatre here under auspices of the Theodore Roosevelt Post of the American Legion.

Miss Ruth A. Ritchie of St Louis is here this week making arrangements for the 2-day event.

A cameraman will be here most of next week taking motion pictures of interesting scenes in Marceline, various civic and social organizations and Individuals. More than one hour will be required for the showing of the special picture, “See Yourself and Your Town in the Movies.”

Officers at all organizations and others who want to be included in the home-town movie are requested to notify Harry S. James, commander of the Legion post here.

After the film is shown at the Uptown Theatre, it will remain the property of the Theodore Roosevelt Post of the Legion.
