Nellie Gardner, age 95, of Brookfield, died Friday, January 2, 2015, at Life Care Center in Brookfield.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Don Kabel and Pastor Randy Festervand officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.

Nellie L., daughter of William and Ruth (Warren) Edgar, was born May 10, 1919, near Brookfield. On November 6, 1937, she married Rolla H. Gardner who preceded her in death October 15, 1999.
Nellie had worked at Bucklin State Bank as a bookkeeper and at the Wrenn Agency in Marceline.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church near Bucklin and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Gardner of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Tara Kempker McVey and husband, Timothy of Jefferson City and Greg Gardner of Indianapolis, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Eilee, Elijah, Josh, Charlie, and Quin; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Simpson of Brookfield.
Her parents; one son, Wayne Gardner; two brothers, William J. Edgar, Jr. and Dale Edgar; and one sister, Grace Cleveland, also preceded her in death.
