To clear up any confusion, the “Marceline Historical Society” mentioned in a recent newspaper article is not affiliated with the Marceline Carnegie Library, or the City of Marceline. They are an out of state-based organization associated with a company who sells consulting services, both headed by Ed / Russ Comber.
The locally-based Marceline Historical Society is part of the Marceline Carnegie Library, based right here in Marceline, Missouri. We work with the community, residents, and former residents to collect, preserve, and share Marceline’s history to make it available to everyone online for now, and in the future.
The Marceline Historical Society is a group of Marceline residents dedicated to Marceline’s history. Our group, and anyone interested, are welcome to attend our monthly meetings, held at the library on the fourth Monday of each month at 2pm.
